This work by Amar Ramesh, Kumaraguru Institutions, & Shakti Creativity and culture initiative, Coimbatore -  created in collaboration with the craftsmen of Bhavani, explores the craftsmanship behind the Jamakkalam and the communities that sustain it.

Through documentation, research, and close engagement with dyers, spinners, and weavers, the book looks beyond the surface of the textile to its process, discipline, and lived continuity.

Bhavani Jamakkalam, a handwoven cotton textile rooted in the Kongu region of Tamil Nadu, strong in structure and bold in stripe has been woven into everyday and ceremonial life for generations.
